CEO/President Opening with The Pelican Institute

Company Description

The Pelican Institute is a nonpartisan research and educational institute, and the leading voice for free people, ideas and markets in Louisiana. The Institute advances well researched reform policies that provide opportunity for individuals and society, based around a constitutionally limited government.
The organization is in a unique position today. The much-loved Founder and President, Kevin Kane, passed away last fall. Alongside the partnership of the national State Policy Network, we are seeking a unique executive professional fit to honor Kevin’s legacy while increasing Pelican’s influence in the years to come. Company Culture: Well researched policy ideas are indispensable currency at The Pelican Institute, but they are considered the beginning of the road. Moving those ideas into the marketplace is the objective. This requires a talented and relational leader who hires a team with the same attributes. At the end of the day, cultural reform is key.
The Pelican Institute fulfills its mission by:

  • Providing Louisiana policymakers, opinion shapers and their staffs with sound research and pathways from “here to there.” Upon request, we provide testimony and help lawmakers troubleshoot options.
  • Ensuring Louisianans have the information necessary to make wise decisions and hold their government accountable. Pelican facilitates public dialogue through social media, direct communication, seminars, lectures, and debates.
  • Engaging with media and presenting sound freedom-oriented reforms through commentaries, reports, and interviews.
